Bubble bath soap, bath bombs, and bath salts - these are common yet underappreciated gifts we all have either given or received at least a dozen times. It's this time of year that you should be treating yourself to a bubble bath. Not a bath person? Make yourself one! Around the holidays we become crazy anxiety-driven super elves, doing anything to come up with or find the next greatest gift. LET IT GO. Yes, we have heard that before right, just let it go? "Don't stress, relax holidays are for fun!" How many of us actually take that advice? I hope you raised your hand. But, if you didn't, I am here to tell you to take a bubble bath. Yes, that is my answer to life. Take a relaxing bubble bath and while you're in there, think about how the holiday season truly is about Being together, loving one another, and enjoying each other in good company.
Lets talk some of the many awesome reasons why taking a soothing bubbly soak is beneficial, and of course we are going to throw some DIY in here, because its FESTIVE FRIDAY!
Relaxation
This is the most obvious, right? So, lets start doing it! You will become much more relaxed than you were before you got in. No matter what worry and stress is sitting on your chest, you can expect it to be lifted off when you slide into that tub. After a hard day at work, a busy day with your little ones, or a long awaited victory after standing in line for 8 hours for that toy, you will feel so much better after letting your body soak into that hot water. To really kick it up a notch to spa like bliss, turn down the lights a bit and play some relaxing music!
Hot baths promote the flow of endorphins, which can help with anxiety, depression, and even seasonal depression.
Due to the increased circulation of the lymph system required for the sweating process during a bath, you can improve your immune system to help fight infection and colds, while accelerating the body's natural healing processes.
A bubbly soak can improve mental state through relaxation and a clearer, refreshed mind. By adding essential oils, you can add even more benefit to this relaxation station. Try lavender for deep relaxation, deep relief for tension and tired achy muscles, or stress away to just melt blissfully. But wait! Dont just throw your essential oils into the water, we want them to assimilate not just float on top! Add your high quality therapeutic grade essential oils to epsom salts first or try your hand at making bath bombs!
Now this is where i am supposed to supply you with a DIY recipe...but, if I'm being honest I don't make my bath bombs. I tried once, but I'm not great at perfect measurements, and if you're making homemade bath bombs you need to measure. So, I just order mine here. Lavender is our favorite, but stress away mmm...sometimes I just throw in both. Not to mention, these make the most luxurious gifts! And if you're thinking of purchasing some lovely spa goodies for someone special in your life make certain that your buying the healthy stuff because all of those benefits we just mentioned are washed down the drain if you're soaking in harsh chemicals with synthetic fragrances! You can trust me on this one, once you try these you will forever be a bath person!
So this year, when you're about to run out the door and get elf crazy, pick up your bath bombs instead, throw em in, turn on the music, grab yourself one of those handy little tub tables (best gift ever) to set your laptop on and do all of your shopping from your DIY spa!
